Optical-textile innovation is constant and proof of this is the new fabric modified by nanotechnology to achieve luminescence in dark situations.

Optical-textile innovation is constant and proof of this is the new fabric modified by nanotechnology to achieve luminescence in dark situations.

To achieve this, particles have been developed which have been placed in [tiny] ceramic capsules and introduced into the fabric.

What these capsules do is retain heat, so that when it gets dark the light is released from the fabric. In this way, they make clothes that emit long-lasting phosphorescence by themselves.

It is intended, above all, for the safety of various forestry agents. The most obvious example is that of a firefighter lost in a forest during a fire. Until now, with the fluorescent or reflective fabric they wear, they have to be focused with a light source in order to be seen. With this fabric they can be seen without that need.

This is a product developed for Textil Santanderina and the fabric is called Wondrous.
